Our sister site, Snitch and Bitch Cafe just linked themselves to Technorati, so, of course, we had to have a Technorati Profile, too. And, a listing at BlogCatalog.

The big point is to get traffic to these sites, so we’re starting to create profiles on the social networks before making a big push with our Social Monkeys site.

Also, if you want information about absolutely free domain names and how to register domain names, check out our site on Domain Names.

Stay tuned, things are coming to the forefront…

A helping hand

People are always in such a rush. Today I was late for class and was rushing down the street to get to the bus stop when I saw this old man stopped on the sidewalk. He had a cane but was having difficulty navigating the icy streets to the bus stop. The old man spoke with a young man who was walking by in a rush. I presume he was asking for help walking because the young man offered his arm and escorted the elderly gentleman down the busy street.

We’ve had a lot of snow in the past few days and the snowbanks are piled high. The sidewalks aren’t really clear so there’s usually only a narrow path that’s scraped by past these mountains of slush and snow. So the old man and the young man walked gingerly towards the bus stop on this busy street.

And what was incredible was that the pace of people around them slowed down. Before, people were rushing to get places and angrily cutting in front of people to get ahead. Now, there were people lined up on both sides of these two men, just patiently waiting for their turn to go by them. Smiles around.

When they got to the bus station, the young man helped the gentleman onto the bus. It was a nice moment

Shoppers Drugmart Kindness

So we’re at Shoppers Drugmart when the cashier beside us had a problem with her till. The store was moderately busy and there was a lot of groaning and complaining because the cashier had to put up a sign saying that her line was closed. So I let the mother and her son that were next in line for the broken till go ahead of me. She was thankful because her son was a little bit crabby … but, what was really nice was that after I did that random act of kindness, somebody in the next line did the same thing. I don’t know if they’re related, but it’s nice to think the world works that way. Maybe they were inspired by my actions?

Yesterday, I was shopping at the supermarket when I noticed an awkward situation at the next cashier. Some guy had done some grocery shopping - not alot, but at least 3 or 4 bags worth of food. The cashier had rung all of the food through and the total came out to just under twenty bucks. The embarassing thing was that the guy had forgotten his wallet at home. He was joking about how he had remembered to bring his cell phone, but forgotten the most important thing, his money.

It was starting to get uncomfortable because the cashier was just a teen and didn’t know what to do. There were quite a few people lined up and the people at the back of the line were starting to get angry because they didn’t know what was going on. Then the father beside the guy pulled open his wallet and gave the cashier a twenty.

It was a really nice thing to do. The people at the back of the line were still grumpy cause they only saw that the line wasn’t moivng. And, the guy who forgot his wallet was really thankful and kept on joking about how he couldn’t believe how he forgot the wallet. But, the best part was how the father acted like it was no big deal. I wonder how many people would have done the same thing in that situation. That made me smile.

Supermarket Kindness

I think being kind is more important than being right. So, I decided to start with a little thing.

When I am in line at a supermarket and see that the person behind me is carrying fewer items, I always let her go ahead of me. It’s amazing to see their reactions. They all say, “Are you sure? May I go ahead?” Then, they thank me again and again.

Peace is available in every moment. It’s all up to us. It all depends on how we approach our life, don’t you think?
