About Ripples of Kindness
Six degrees of separation. That’s what connects the 6.6 billion people living on Earth today. While the actual number of links between people varies based on the study conducted, it’s generally accepted that it’s a small world.
Have you ever received an act of kindness? How did you feel? Did you pass it on or pay it forwards? Given that we’re all interconnected, what happens when a random act of kindness occurs? A moment of happiness? A smile? A pause from the rat race? Do positive behaviours move through society like a ripple through water? We think so.
Ripples of Kindness is about encouraging those sorts of ripple effects and dropping more pebbles in the pond.
Just do it anonymously. The whole point is to show the good side of life. Tell us about the little things that made you smile today. Like when the cashier who genuinely smiled and wished you a good day. Or, how your neighbour held open the door for you to bring the groceries in. Maybe your friend lent a sympathetic ear. Maybe the teenager with the tattoos and cellphone blaring gave up their seat on the bus. Focus on the good and you’ll feel better inside, I promise.
So, pull up a chair, pour yourself some coffee, and tell us the things that make you smile - big or small, we want to hear it all. Read about the other acts of kindness that ripple around the world. And now that you feel inspired, go forwards and be a productive member of society. Carpe diem. Sieze the day. What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
